Update Student Records and Scholarship Eligibility
August 31, 2022
August 31 is the deadline for student records to be updated so that eligible graduates, including those completing or upgrading this summer, are considered for scholarships and receive those awards as appropriate. Please ensure grades and citizenship/permanent residency status are correctly reported.
BC Achievement scholarship recipients will be determined automatically in the fall; to be considered, graduates must be on record as meeting core and scholarship-specific requirements by August 31.
Similarly, students who have been selected as conditional recipients of the District/Authority, BC Excellence, and Pathway to Teacher Education scholarships must be on record as satisfying all requirements by August 31 to be confirmed as recipients and sent a scholarship voucher this fall.
For details about scholarship requirements, please follow the links above.
TRAX is closed for data uploads via the School Secure Web over the summer. For information on submitting course completion or other data to TRAX for eligible graduates or graduating students, please contact trax.support@gov.bc.ca.
Instructions
Citizenship/Permanent Residency
Canadian citizens and permanent residents must be reported with a “C” indicator in student information system (SIS) extracts to TRAX. Please ensure the citizenship status for all Grade 12 students is correctly recorded in your SIS and reported in your school’s TRAX data submission. Students who do not have a “C” reported (including blank entries) will be ineligible for scholarships.
BC Achievement Scholarship
BC Achievement recipients are identified automatically based on their marks in the grades 10 to 12 courses that fulfilled their graduation requirements. The courses used vary from student to student and those marks combined differ from a grade point average.
Results from the numeracy and literacy graduation assessments do not factor into determining BC Achievement scholarship recipients. However, to be eligible, students must meet all B.C. graduation requirements, including the graduation assessments.
